Director, Supply Chain - EPC

Building on our past. Ready for the future.
Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts. We partner with customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. We're bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.

At Worley, major projects demand more than technical expertise-they require strategic leadership, collaboration across disciplines, and the ability to deliver complex procurement programs that keep some of the world's largest energy and infrastructure projects moving forward. As Director, Supply Chain - EPC, you will help shape and execute the procurement strategy for large-scale EPC projects while leading high-performing supply chain teams that deliver results safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

You will work closely with project leadership, engineering, construction, and commercial teams to ensure the right materials, equipment, and services are sourced and delivered when they are needed. This role plays a critical part in protecting project schedules, controlling cost, and maintaining the high standards of quality and compliance our clients expect.

Purpose of the role

Play an integral role in the successful delivery of large, complex EPC projects by leading the full lifecycle of project procurement and supply chain activities. You will be responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies that support project objectives while ensuring equipment, materials, and third-party services are delivered safely, on schedule, and at the best possible value.

This role establishes the procurement framework for major capital projects and provides leadership to multidisciplinary supply chain teams, ensuring alignment with project goals, corporate policies, and client expectations.

Core Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the strategic leadership and execution of all project supply chain activities, including:

  • Leading all procurement and supply chain operations for major EPC projects, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, and budget requirements
  • Developing and implementing the project Procurement Plan, identifying critical equipment, materials, and third-party services required for successful project delivery
  • Establishing procurement strategies that balance schedule, cost efficiency, quality, and risk management
  • Developing and managing approved vendor lists, ensuring suppliers meet technical, commercial, safety, and compliance requirements
  • Preparing and overseeing the issuance of Request for Quotation (RFQ) packages and ensuring clear technical and commercial documentation
  • Leading the commercial and technical evaluation of vendor bids, providing clear recommendations for supplier selection and contract awards
  • Negotiating major equipment and service contracts to secure favorable commercial and delivery terms
  • Ensuring supply chain execution supports project milestones, mitigating risks that could impact project schedule or cost
  • Collaborating closely with engineering, project controls, construction, and commercial teams to ensure integrated project delivery
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to supply chain personnel including procurement managers, buyers, expeditors, and logistics specialists
  • Managing supplier performance and developing long-term relationships with strategic vendors
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical procurement practices
  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives across procurement systems, processes, and tools
  • Communicating procurement strategies, project risks, and performance updates to senior leadership and project stakeholders

What you'll bring to the role

You bring deep supply chain leadership experience within large EPC environments and understand how procurement decisions directly influence project success. You thrive in complex project environments and bring the strategic perspective required to manage large budgets, global suppliers, and multi-disciplinary teams.

Key qualifications and capabilities include:

  • Extensive EPC supply chain leadership experience, typically 20+ years in procurement, supply chain, or project services roles
  • Mega-project experience supporting projects exceeding $1 billion in capital value, preferably within LNG, pipelines, energy infrastructure, or power generation
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute project-wide procurement strategies that align with engineering, construction, and commercial objectives
  • Strong expertise in equipment procurement, materials sourcing, and third-party service contracting for large capital projects
  • Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing supply chain teams across complex projects or regions
  • Deep understanding of global supplier markets, vendor qualification processes, and strategic sourcing methodologies
  • Ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously, often through cross-functional teams and indirect reporting structures
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating high-value contracts and managing supplier risk
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to present complex proposals and influence senior leadership
  • A collaborative leadership style that promotes teamwork, accountability, and transparency across project teams
  • Advanced knowledge of procurement systems, processes, and tools used within EPC environments
  • A university degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
