TechConnect is a division of ATI. With 25+ years of experience connecting emerging technologies with unique funding and partnership opportunities, we boast the most robust research and innovation network in the world. We employ a broad scope of tools to deliver top technologies, including open innovation programs, conferences, and accelerators. Each year, TechConnect scouts, vets, and connects thousands of emerging technologies with corporate, investment, municipal, and national defense clients.

Position Description:

The Open Innovation Project Manager leads end-to-end delivery of TechConnect's open-innovation programs - challenges, sprints, and accelerators - for industry and government clients. This role translates complex technical objectives into structured, executable programs; builds and manages multi-phase project plans; and coordinates internal and external stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will partner with clients to understand their priorities and long-term goals, then lead our internal team through design and execution of programs that source, vet, and connect emerging technologies to real-world needs. This role blends client-facing strategy, operational project management, and ecosystem engagement to deliver repeatable, high-impact innovation programs.

Essential Functions
  • Own the full lifecycle of open-innovation programs - from client discovery and scoping through launch, execution, and post-program reporting
  • Translate client needs into structured program designs, timelines, milestones, and deliverables across challenges, sprints, and accelerators
  • Build and maintain project plans that align internal teams (e.g. communications, sales, event staff) and external stakeholders (e.g. clients, mentors, innovators)
  • Lead cross-functional coordination to ensure deadlines, content development, events, and communications remain on track
  • Serve as the primary client-facing program lead, facilitating technical discussions and maintaining confidence and clarity with senior client teams
  • Design and administer open-innovation programs across diverse deep-tech domains
  • Moderate webinars, pitch events, office hours, and cohort sessions as part of program delivery
  • Develop and manage high-quality program content that communicates complex technical objectives in clear, accessible language
  • Track program progress using Asana to provide transparency to leadership and team members
  • Keep immaculate records in Box, Drive, and other tools, as requested
  • Proactively identify gaps, risks, and needs and communicate them early
  • Contribute to program close-out, reporting, and "project legacy" documentation to support organizational learning and repeatability
  • Travel to program-specific and TechConnect-run events to support, as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' degree and four years of relevant experience or a Masters' degree and two years of relevant experience
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to break down complex needs, ask specific questions, and build a plan
  • Consummate professional who can be trusted to work remotely and maintain productivity
  • PMP certification a bonus
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%.
  • Must be either a U.S. Citizen by birth or naturalization.
  • Must successfully pass a background to access sensitive information and automated systems.

Anticipated starting salary is in range commensurate with education and experience:
$75,000 - $78,000
