The Merrilee Alexander Kick College of Business & Entrepreneurship at Texas Woman's University is searching for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Strategy, beginning Fall 2027. Successful applicants will possess an earned doctorate in Strategy, Strategic Management, or in Management with a demonstrated program of research in strategy broadly including corporate strategy, governance, or nonmarket strategy.

THE POSITION

This is a full-time, tenure-track position. Faculty will be expected to perform the following duties:

  • Serve as a core faculty member in Management on the campus in Denton, Texas

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in strategy, including Business Policy

  • Be able to teach in online, hybrid, and face-to-face formats

  • Participate in department, University, and professional service

  • Maintain a strong research agenda that produces publications in well-regarded management and strategy journals, consistent with the College's AACSB "Scholarly Academic (SA)" standards, the University's expectations for tenure and promotion, and the TWU Faculty Qualifications and Engagement Policy for AACSB accreditation

QUALIFICATIONS Required
  • An earned doctorate in Strategy, Strategic Management, or in Management with a demonstrated program of research in strategy, conferred by the date of appointment. ABD candidates near completion will be considered.

  • A program of research in one or more of the following areas: competitive and corporate strategy; strategic leadership and governance; nonmarket strategy.

  • Ability to teach effectively in online, hybrid, and face-to-face formats.

  • Evidence of, or the demonstrated ability to maintain, AACSB "Scholarly Academic (SA)" status through publication in high-quality peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred
  • Teaching experience in strategic management or business policy at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

  • Methodological expertise in longitudinal or panel data (e.g., STATA, Python, R) or another cutting-edge methodological approach.

  • A record of publication, or a clear and active pipeline, in well-regarded management and strategy journals (e.g., FT-50, ABS 4*, ABDC A/A*).

Texas Woman's University holds a notable position in higher education as the nation's largest university primarily for women.
