Medical Assistant - OB/GYN

Pay From: $20 per hour

MUST:

Experienced Medical Assistant

1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant

Must have a background in OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, and/or Family Medicine

Must have experience working on NextGen EMR

Must have strong injections skills

Must be technology savvy

Must have experience working in a busy multi-physician practice

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills

Must have experience working in a busy multi-provider office

Phlebotomy experience is highly preferred

Current CMA/RMA/CNA Certification

Fluency in Spanish required

DUTIES:

Medical Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

Places patients in exam rooms; obtains and records vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and a brief history of their illness.

Cleans and prepares exam and procedure rooms; sets up necessary equipment and instruments.

Sterilization of all instruments.

Stock exam rooms

Obtains consent forms from patients, when necessary.

Prepares patients for minor surgeries or other procedures.

Assists physicians with surgical and other procedures, as needed.

Schedules lab appointments or tests as ordered by physicians.

Accurately manages lab specimens.

Ordering necessary medical supplies.

Educates patients and families regarding specific diseases, proper follow up, and preventative care.

Acts as a liaison between the physician and the patient.

Administers medication as prescribed by the physician.

Contacts patients with test results, as directed by the physician.

Takes pharmacy calls and responds appropriately with refills per physician orders.

Maintains other patient records and legal forms, as required by law.

Assists with chart preparation

Files tests, lab results, charts, etc.

Answers phones, schedules appointments, and takes messages to pass to physician, manager, etc. as is appropriate

Follows all clinic policies, procedures and work rules, as established from time to time by clinic management

Other duties as assigned
