Cyber Systems Administrator

BlueWater Federal is looking for a Cyber Systems Administrator to support the SEWS program in Colorado Springs

• Check logs from critical servers, network devices, and security tools (like SIEMs) for any anomalies, errors, or warnings that occur overnight. Many automated tasks, such as data transfers, batch processing, or maintenance scripts, run overnight. Check the following morning to verify logs or reports from these jobs to ensure they are completed successfully.
• Monitor the health and performance of the IT infrastructure, including CPU, memory, and disk usage on key servers, and check network traffic for bottlenecks.
• Confirm that all scheduled backup jobs from the previous night are completed successfully and without errors. Actively check that key services and daemons are running. This includes services like DNS, DHCP, and the processes for critical business applications.
• Review and prioritize alerts from security systems like Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), firewalls, and antivirus software.
• Perform a quick health check on major databases. Check for long-running queries, review database-specific error logs, and ensure replication is functioning correctly between the primary and secondary servers.
• Run a quick scan or check a dashboard to ensure that critical SSL/TLS certificates for public-facing websites and services are not nearing their expiration date.
• Review network access control (NAC) logs or network scans to see if any unauthorized or unknown devices have connected to the network.

• Associate's degree and 4+ years of Systems admin experience OR Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience; 6+ years of total relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree
• Must have an active Secret clearance
• Security+ verification is required
• Experience with CND tools, vulnerability scanners, intrusion detection/prevention
• Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux 8/9 Server and Workstation administration; Windows 10/11 Server and Workstation administration
• Experience building, managing, and maintaining Domain Controllers; DNS, Active Directory, GPOs, and LDAP configuration
• Experience with MS SQL Server, Postgres, or other database systems.
• Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) Certification is preferred
