ABB in Selmer, TN is growing! As we ramp up to the opening of a new, larger manufacturing facility only a few miles away from our current location, the team is looking for an Administrative Assistant who will join a nimble Human Resources department and act as a resource to employees, managers, and incoming visitors/customers.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide administrative services and/or secretarial assistance at an organization or business level primarily the Human Resource function. Each day, you will perform complex administrative tasks. You will also showcase your expertise by taking ownership of delivering specific business processes/programs. This person will serve as the welcoming face of ABB in the lobby of the new facility.

The work model for the role is onsite (#LI-Onsite).

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • HR support and back up including: Acting as backup for the Kronos payroll system, Screening applicants; setting up onsite interviews; assisting with new hire paperwork, including new ID cards, and assisting a business/business manager in all business-relevant administration tasks, such as conducting research, compiling, verifying the information, and creating special reports, presentations, organization charts, correspondence, and other relevant documents.

  • Ensuring sharing of knowledge and information to keep others informed and up to date however, also realizing you will be dealing with confidential information and this will be a key responsibility of the role, to keep confidences.

  • Acting as the point of contact for internal/external inquiries via phone and email, assessing the urgency of issues, and initiating appropriate action.

  • Arranging business-critical internal/external events, including arranging travel, developing itineraries, booking accommodation, registering for conferences, and coordinating with visiting speakers, among other tasks.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Associates Degree Preferred, High School / GED required.

  • Required 2+ years of previous experience in a Human Resources (or closely related) function.

  • Ability to act with discretion in relation to confidential information.

  • Strong phone/email etiquette experience.

  • Ability to provide clear verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to coach/train others.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft office software (Excel; Word; PowerPoint; Outlook).

  • Prior experience with UKG/Kronos or Workday is preferred.

  • Proficiency with basic data analysis and production metrics is a plus

  • You are passionate about working with co-workers; answering benefit questions and providing resources as needed.

  • Candidates must already possess work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
