ChristianaCareis currently seeking aPart-Time Service Assistant III - Cashierto join our dynamic Food Services team! Position Summary: As aCashierin our Food Services department, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service to patients, visitors, and staff. You'll be responsible for accurately processing transactions, maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, and supporting the overall operations of our dining areas. Key Responsibilities: Operate Point of Sale (POS) systems to process payments and issue receipts. Reconcile cash drawers and ensure accurate end-of-shift deposits. Accept and process credit cards, dining cards, vouchers, and other forms of payment. Follow proper cash handling procedures and maintain accuracy standards. Troubleshoot POS, scale, and card reader issues. Provide excellent customer service and resolve concerns using HEAT principles. Restock and sanitize beverage machines and maintain cleanliness in service areas. Monitor cafeteria areas and support team operations. Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and infection prevention protocols. Work Schedule: This position requires participation in arotating shift schedule, including: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM 11:15 AM - 7:45 PM Other 8-hour shifts as needed All team members are required to work every other weekend and holiday. Shift times may vary based on departmental needs. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 6 months of food service or cashier experience preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Skills & Abilities: Strong knowledge of cash handling and POS systems. Ability to perform basic arithmetic and reconcile transactions. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Comfortable working in a healthcare setting with potential exposure to infectious diseases and cleaning chemicals. Why ChristianaCare? This position has a starting rate of $18.08 per hour, regardless of prior experience. After six months of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $21.15 per hour. After one year of continuous employment, the hourly rate will automatically increase to $22.18 per hour. This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
