DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Maintenance Repairman 2 supports daily operations at Point State Park by performing skilled, journey-level maintenance and repair work. Under the direction of the Park Maintenance Supervisor, this position maintains park buildings, grounds, vehicles, equipment, and infrastructure, and requires proficiency in at least two trades such as building, mechanical, or electrical work.
Key responsibilities include operating and maintaining the park's fountain and reflecting pool; performing masonry, plumbing, electrical, and grounds maintenance; and assisting with project planning and material estimates. The role also involves operating light and heavy equipment for landscaping, turf care, and general park operations.
Additional duties include snow removal, clearing flood debris, and performing restroom and trash maintenance when needed. Obtaining pesticide applicator and ISA arborist certifications is strongly encouraged.
The Maintenance Repairman 2 reports daily work progress to the Park Maintenance Supervisor or Park Manager and completes required logs and inventory reports. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hour work week, 5 days per week
- Employees in this position are required to work weekends and holidays as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
