General Information:

The College of Business at James Madison University seeks an administrative professional to provide support to faculty and academic programs. Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will help manage the administrative duties for the Academic Unit Head and full-and part-time faculty in the College of Business. Duties include, but are not limited to, training and supervising graduate and undergraduate student employees, preparation of mass examinations, maintenance of course files, providing assistance with hiring new faculty, creating enrollment queries and other reports as needed. The successful candidate will manage class entry and course registrations for departments and provide accurate reporting of Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) database material. Additional duties include the preparation of travel authorizations/travel reimbursements and general correspondence. Some event planning will be required.

Required Qualifications:



  • Professional demeanor, confidentiality and excellent customer service skills are essential
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work fluidly in a dynamic environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office processes is essential, particularly Excel


Additional Considerations:



  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft (Student Administration) or similar software
  • Experience with creating and interpreting queries
  • Experience with event planning for departmental/board events
