Job Description

Location: Mentor / RP, Ohio
Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Status: Hourly
Reports To: Finishing Area Manager

Join Our Team as an FPI Level II Inspector

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated FPI Level II Inspector to support our finishing operations. In this role, you will perform fluorescent penetrant inspections on investment cast turbine components, ensuring parts meet strict customer and industry quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced inspector who values precision, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform fluorescent penetrant inspections (FPI) on investment cast turbine components.

  • Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results in accordance with customer specifications.

  • Set up, calibrate, and maintain inspection equipment to ensure accurate testing.

  • Ensure products are processed according to approved inspection methods and procedures.

  • Provide guidance and support to Level I inspectors and trainees.

  • Maintain familiarity with expected defect types and locations related to manufacturing processes.

  • Organize and report test results accurately and efficiently.

  • Handle hazardous materials and waste in compliance with MSDS guidelines and company policies.

  • Maintain a safe, positive, and collaborative work environment with coworkers and supervisors.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Supervisor or Level III Inspector.

Qualifications

Education & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred (experience may substitute).

  • Basic computer skills required.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.

  • Reliable attendance and flexibility to meet production deadlines.

Experience & Certification

  • Current (preferred) or previous FPI Level II certification.

  • Completed organized training course in accordance with NAS-410 requirements.

  • Experience with inspection of turbine components is highly desirable.

Physical & Job Requirements
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

  • Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts when required.

  • Must pass visual acuity and color perception tests (corrected vision acceptable).

  • Willingness to maintain certification and complete required testing every five years.
