Applications are invited for a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty position (rank open) in the Department of Finance and Business Economics at the USC Marshall School of Business. The appointment will begin in Fall 2026.The position is affiliated with the Peter Arkley Institute for Risk Management, which advances risk management and insurance education, research, and industry engagement at USC Marshall.

Applicants are sought in the area of insurance, risk management, and innovation.

This is a full-time, renewable academic appointment. The position requires teaching the equivalent of six one-semester courses per academic year. Administrative appointments within Marshall may result in course releases. The successful candidate will teach in both the undergraduate and graduate programs and is expected to engage in student advising and faculty service activities, including workshops, recruiting events, and other activities that support the Department of Finance and Business Economics and the Peter Arkley Institute for Risk Management. The position will also contribute to the Institute's academic mission by supporting risk management-related programming and engaging with relevant Institute initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • A doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in a field related to risk management, finance, or economics, preferably with multiple years of experience in the insurance and risk management industry.
  • Candidates with a master's degree will be considered if they have at least ten years of relevant experience and expertise in insurance, risk management, or a closely related area.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience teaching at the college or university level.

Salary is dependent on qualifications, and employee benefits for full-time faculty are excellent. The annual base salary range for this position is $122,552 - $279,434.
