Cypress Creek Hospital is a free-standing 128-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in north Houston, TX, and minutes south of The Woodlands. Cypress Creek Hospital features individual units for adolescents and adults and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Cypress Creek Hospital. We currently have an opportunity for a PRN Court Liaison/Patient Advocate

Provide clinically indicated services to individuals and the courts, for persons receiving court ordered services. Investigates, resolves, documents and reports patient grievances in to ensure resolution of concerns presented by patients, families, or other representatives of the patient. The Patient Advocate actively participates in the development and implementation of customer service and patient relations initiatives related to the facility's mission and goals.

Hours are based on departmental, and facility needs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensures compliance with time requirements of court mandated documentation.
  • Ensures accurate facility records of all required activities and documentation.
  • Establishes relationships/communication with physicians, courts and referral sources that optimize compliance and present a positive perspective of Cypress Creek Hospital.
  • Expedites effective linkages between sources to ensure coordination of treatment.
  • Documents in a timely manner. Documents all family and patient contacts.
  • Facilitates resolution of complaints/grievances/requests by patients and families in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains tracking system in accordance with organizational policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborates with unit and facility leadership to meet customer service and clinical quality outcomes for the customer.
  • Identify systems related problems, via patient data and work collaboratively with staff to resolve.
  • Conduct on-going analysis and trending of complaints and grievances and reports through appropriate committee structure.
  • Participate on committees, work groups and/or process improvement teams that improve customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Court Liaison/Patient Advocate Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year healthcare customer experience required.
  • Detail orientated with working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with various patient age-groups.
  • Must be available from 7:30am - 12:30pm, Monday - Friday.
  • Valid TDL w/clear driving record with reliable transportation (for court attendance).
