*Location:* Portsmouth, NH 03801 *Schedule:* * *Monday, Wednesday, Friday:* 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM * *Tuesday, Thursday:* 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM * *Type:* Contract-to-Hire * *Category:* Patient Registrar / Patient Service Representative * *Experience Level:* Intermediate (open to earlycareer candidates with a strong customer service background) *About the Role* We are seeking a *Patient Service Specialist* to join a busy clinical care environment and deliver exceptional service to patients, families, internal team members, and external partners. This role supports the smooth flow of daily operations by coordinating patient services, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring an accurate, efficient revenue cycle process. You will be the first point of contact for patients, helping them feel supported while navigating appointments, registration, insurance requirements, and checkout procedures. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills who enjoys patient interaction and thrives in a servicedriven setting. *Key Responsibilities* * Greet, register, and check out patients while explaining visit expectations and next steps * Schedule patient appointments both in person and over the phone * Communicate regularly with insurance companies, attorney offices, translation services, and internal departments * Collect copays, manage payer approvals, and complete insurance verifications and authorizations * Prepare patient intake forms ahead of appointments to ensure timely service * Verify insurance eligibility and advise patients regarding financial responsibility * Meet quality assurance standards and follow established payment control procedures * Maintain accurate administrative records and documentation * Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming office environment * Collaborate with operational leaders and team members to resolve issues and improve service delivery *Required Skills & Qualifications* * Strong customer service orientation and ability to remain professional in challenging conversations * Proven experience using desktop computers and Microsoft Office applications * Ability to operate office equipment such as phones, copiers, and fax machines * Experience in customer-facing roles (retail, hospitality, healthcare, reception, etc.) is welcomed * Open to recent bachelor's degree graduates with no formal experience *Preferred Traits* * Patientcentered mindset * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to multitask in a busy office environment * Comfortable working with confidential information * Positive, teamoriented attitude *Work Environment & Team Culture* You'll be joining a *tenured, supportive, and familyoriented team* known for a positive, laidback atmosphere.
