Hours and Pay



  • Pay Rate: $32.00 - $39.00 per hour (based on experience)
  • Assignment Length: 1+ year contract
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (flexible start/end times)
  • Note: Project demands may require longer hours Monday-Thursday with a shorter Friday

Daily Responsibilities



  • Perform laboratory synthesis supporting new product development, cost reduction, and process optimization initiatives
  • Collaborate with lead researchers to design and execute experimental programs
  • Conduct analysis of laboratory and plant samples using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, rheology, and titrations
  • Design and construct complex or non-standard laboratory setups and equipment
  • Specify and procure lab components such as flow controllers, pumps, and thermostats
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical equipment to ensure accurate and meaningful data
  • Support technology transfer and plant trials at manufacturing sites
  • Document experimental results, analyze data, and prepare detailed technical reports
  • Participate in and contribute to lab safety programs, including inspections, hazard analysis, and safety reviews
  • Maintain chemical inventory and ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures
  • Share technical expertise and mentor team members to strengthen overall team capability



Requirements



  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Chemistry or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a chemical laboratory or pilot plant environment (10+ years preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with organic or polymer synthesis
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting analytical instrumentation
  • Strong knowledge of experimental design, reaction fundamentals, and separation processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document and present findings
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with laboratory equipment safely


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience working with high-pressure systems and catalysts
  • Background in managing lab systems, safety documentation, and process research units
