Position Title: Temporary On-Call Archaeological Technician Compensation: $14 Hourly Department: Applied Anthropology Laboratories - Temp Start Date: 05/03/2026 About this opportunity: Perform Phase 1, Phase 2, or Phase 3 archaeological surveys, along with associated laboratory analysis, as assigned by the Director, under the supervision of the Crew Chief, Field Director, and/or Principal Investigator. Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. What you'll do and what you'll bring: Position Description: Perform reconnaissance surveys, including surface collection and shovel test pit surveys. Maintain accurate field records, including photographs, maps, and written documentation. Collaborate with team members to meet project objectives. Conduct controlled test unit excavations independently or as part of a team. Carry out additional duties as assigned. Ensure reliable and consistent attendance. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field by time of appointment. At least 120 hours of archaeological experience in Cultural Resource Management or under similar working conditions. Preferred Qualifications: Training in laboratory analysis of prehistoric cultural materials. Attendance at an archaeological field school, particularly with a pre-contact component. 200+ hours of Cultural Resource Management experience in archaeology.
