DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be responsible for routine tasks related to meal preparation and maintaining cleanliness in food preparation and serving areas at the Southeastern Veterans Center. Your responsibilities will include cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and work surfaces, as well as preparing food trays, measuring portions, serving meals, and transporting trays and carts. You will also safely operate various kitchen tools such as mixers, slicers, and grinders to assist in food preparation.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Permanent part-time employment, 8 hours/day - 40 hours bi-weekly
  • Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, rotating days and weekend, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Previous food service worker experience

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
