Position Summary

The University of Illinois Chicago College of Business Administration invites applications for a full-time lecturer to teach Business Communication (BA 200). This required three-credit-hour undergraduate course introduces the fundamentals of communicating effectively in a corporate environment, including writing business documents, delivering presentations, and collaborating in teams. The position start date is August 16, 2026. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience teaching business communication at the university level. The ability to teach other business administration courses, such as Business Decision-Making (BA 111), which focuses on analytical skills with a particular emphasis on quantitative reasoning and basic data analysis using Excel, is preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and/or graduate business communication and business administration courses in person, some of which may require quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Provide service to the department, college, and university.
  • Contribute to the College's mission through industry engagement, student involvement, and professional development.
  • Perform other professional and/or academic activities and special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree or above in a related discipline.
  • Documented evidence of excellence in college-level teaching.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • At least two years of experience teaching business communication at a four-year university.
  • Ability to teach quantitative concepts using Excel or other data analysis tools.
