Job Description
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is responsible for identifying and supporting clinical franchise/disease and diagnostic insight related medical needs in a defined geography. Primary responsibilities include establishing frequent and timely interactions with Thought Leaders (TL), payers and other Health Care Providers (HCP) aligned with medical strategies to discuss safe and appropriate use of approved diagnostic insights and pharmaco-economic data. MSLs also respond to unsolicited questions on current medical and scientific issues, healthcare advances, treatment trends, and health outcomes measures. TLs may include nationally, regionally and locally recognized scientific and clinical leaders, medical advisors to managed care providers and committees, payers and HCPs active in addressing patient advocacy issues. This is a remote-basedassignment. Pay Range: $140,000 - $185,000 salary Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organization factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.
Responsibilities:
Collaboratewithmedicaldirectortosupportmedicaltacticstodriveclinicalfranchisepriorities. AssistidentifyingandpartneringwithThoughtLeaders(TLs)toconductcollaborativeresearchinitiatives. Establishcredibilitybygeneratinganddisseminatinghigh-qualityscientificevidencethatsupportsHaystack'sMRD assayperformanceandclinicalrelevance. Help lead and support investigator-initiated trials (IITs), real-world data studies, and other collaborative research efforts. Partner with cross-functional teams to develop abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and case studies for conferences and peer-reviewed publications. Representthecompanyatscientificmeetingsthroughposters,boothpresence,andpresentations. CollaboratewithadvocacyandguidelinebodiestoinformandinfluenceclinicalstandardsofcareinMRDand precision oncology testing. Identify, map, and engage oncology TLs at local, regional, and national levels to foster peer-to-peer collaboration and advocacy for Haystack MRD. TLs should be recognized scientific and clinical leaders, medical advisors to managed care providers and committees, payers, and HCPs active in addressing patient advocacy issues. Provide deep scientific education to healthcare providers, pathologists, and institutions on MRD and precision oncology testing across various tumor types, performance data, and application in clinical workflows. Respondingtoinquiriesontestinterpretation,currentmedicalandscientificissues,healthcareadvances,treatment trends, and health outcomes measures. Functionasthemedicalextensionofthecommercialfieldorganizationbyhelpingtoprepareforhigh-valuecustomer engagements,co-developstrategicterritoryplans,andprovidereal-timeclinicaldatapresentationsandclarification during in-field discussions. Partner closely with commercial, marketing, and market access to ensure the scientific rigor, accuracy and compliance of all outward-facing materials. Serve as an embedded medical resource, regularly joining customer meetings, site visits, and educational presentations to reinforce scientific credibility and support sales objectives within compliance boundaries. Defineandmaintainthemedicalscientificframeworkforbrandstrategyandpositioning. Reviewandvetmarketingcollateral,websitecontent,publications,andsalestoolsformedicalaccuracyand compliance. Delivertailoredtrainingandongoingcoachingtosalesrepresentativestoensureconsistent,accurate,andcompliant communication of MRD and precision oncology data, competitive positioning, and clinical differentiation. Design and execute peer-to-peer programs including dinner meetings, journal clubs, tumor boards, webinars, and educational symposia. Leadscientificsessionsduringnationalsalesmeetingsandmaintainongoing"medicalofficehours"forfieldteam support. Facilitatepathologydepartmenttrainingtoreducetestingvariabilityandimprovetissueadequacy,pathology workflows, and result quality metrics.
Qualifications:
Deepknowledgeofoncologydiagnosticsandmoleculartestingmarkets. DemonstratedexperiencewithliquidbiopsytechnologiesandNGS-basedtestingstronglypreferred. Provenexperiencesupportingevidence-generationactivities(IITs,publications,real-worldstudies). Excellentwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills;recordofpeer-reviewedpublicationspreferred. Experiencesupportingcross-functionaltrainingandfieldmedical-scientificengagement. Strongprojectmanagementandorganizationalabilitiesinafast-paced,matrixedworkenvironment. Willingnesstotravel(upto50%)forconferences,internalmeetings,andfieldvisits. Demonstratedcommitmenttocompliancewithcompanypolicies,SOPs,andapplicableregulations.
Preferred Work Experience Minimumof5yearsofexperiencein medicalaffairs,clinicalresearch,orrelatedroleswithindiagnostics,oncology, or biotechnology. Physical and Mental Requirements
