What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Controls Technician to support the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of complex electrical control systems across critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure reliable operation of industrial control systems, including RTUs, VFDs, Cooling Towers, Boiler Rooms, Air Compressors, Process Water, and DI Water systems, while supporting commissioning, retrofits, and system upgrades.

What You'll Do
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical control systems and components across diverse industrial environments
  • Perform diagnostics and root cause analysis on control system failures to minimize downtime and ensure system reliability
  • Support commissioning and integration of new equipment and control system upgrades
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement preventative maintenance programs, retrofits, and system improvements
  • Maintain accurate control logic, wiring diagrams, and system documentation using Flux and CMMS platforms
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and optimization of ALC/BMS systems
  • Adhere to MOP (Method of Procedure) protocols and all safety and compliance standards

What You'll Bring
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in Instrumentation & Controls (I&C), with demonstrated expertise in industrial control systems
  • Proven experience with RTUs, VFDs, BMS/ALC systems, and process control environments
  • Proficient in using CMMS and Flux software for work order management and system documentation
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics, ladder logic, and control system diagnostics
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and after-hours support when required
  • Must be able to sign all necessary Tesla forms (e.g., NDA) and complete all required onboarding trainings

    Expected Compensation
    $32.00 - $60.70/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
