SUMMARY
The Business Banking Credit Coordinator II actively works with Underwriters and Bankers, following established guidelines and procedures, to support business loan origination using advanced knowledge of credit policy, bank products, risk and regulatory requirements. This position is the initial entry point of Business Banking Lending credit request submissions to prepare for underwriting, as well as completing all due diligence associated with the satisfaction of loan approval and collateral lien perfection conditions to prepare for loan closing documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verifies application is fully complete, ensures there are no inconsistencies, and request meets product requirements for basic to moderately complex business loan requests.
  • Confirms all supplemental financial or supporting information required for underwriting is received.
  • Interacts directly with Bankers to follow up for missing information.
  • Completes LOS data entry to initiate the loan process for Business Banking Lending requests.
  • Maintains the integrity of the loan package by ensuring all submitted information is accurately input into the system.
  • Reviews the credit approval for loan closing conditions, lien perfection requirements and partners with bankers to clear all regulatory and policy requirements.
  • Collaborates with bankers and business partners to ensure all loan requests are processed in a timely and accurate manner for routing to the appropriate underwriting channel.
  • Communicates and tracks for supporting documents and follow-up documentation with Bankers for underwriting and loan closing.
  • Orders and obtains required due diligence items from all submission points including bankers, customers, internal business partners, or 3rd party vendors as required.
  • Maintains all established compliance and policy requirements when processing loan package.
  • Participates in trainings, meetings, and communications to maintain knowledge of Bank products, credit policies, and operational changes.
  • Meets all established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Assist with development and maintenance of procedures and training materials.
  • Performs job responsibilities in accordance with established service level agreements.
  • Assist with mentoring and training other team members, new and existing.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as policies, procedural notices, and system guidelines.
  • Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively speak and present information in one-on-one and small group situations before team members, bankers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Strong understanding of business lending products, credit risk, financial statements, process workflow management, and financial regulations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as the drive to work with individuals and groups across the company to manage client relationships.
  • Proficient in an automated loan origination environment.
  • Strong proficiency with phone systems and personal computers with demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 4-6 years banking experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required
