Ramboll is accepting applications for the Summer 2026 internship program at our office located in St. Louis, MO. Each participant will be assigned a mentor who will guide them through project assignments. The program will provide internship participants with the opportunity to gain experience working in one or more practice areas. Our goal is to afford our interns experience with a variety of projects during the summer program to broaden their understanding an experience within their field of interest.

Job Description

As our new intern, you will be a part of Ramboll's diverse, creative, and collaborative team. Tasks and Responsibilities

As our new Geoenvironmental Engineering intern, you will be part of our Environment and Health group supporting various types of environmental and geotechnical projects for coal combustion residual (CCR) surface impoundments, mine tailings storage facilities, and environmental remediation projects.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Supporting the conceptual design, permitting, final design, and construction of geoenvironmental remediation systems (cutoff walls, barriers, closures and caps, groundwater management systems, etc) for industrial waste impoundments and contaminated sites.
  • Performing construction quantity takeoffs and cost estimating.
  • Performing peer reviews on calculations, cost estimates, documents, and other deliverables prepared by other Ramboll staff members.
  • Performing project administrative activities, such as managing electronic file systems, updating schedules, tracking data, etc.
  • Researching and performing data gathering for various topics, such as construction costs, regulatory citations, and journals.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should be working toward a B.S or M.S degree in in Civil, Geological, or Environmental Engineering.
  • Candidates with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above are strongly preferred. Candidates with the completion of 4 college semesters (rising Junior status) are strongly preferred.
  • Interest in working towards Engineer-in-Training (EIT) licensure

Required Minimum Skills and Abilities:

  • Microsoft Office, including strong Excel and Word skills
  • Coursework or work experience with at least two of the following areas: geotechnical engineering, groundwater hydrogeology, construction management, drafting and design (including AutoCAD software), and geology.
  • Ability to work on tasks semi-independently when given clear direction by other Ramboll staff, and ability to communicate with Ramboll staff for help and guidance if needed.
