UCF Health - Student Health Services (SHS) provides various primary and specialty care services to help keep students, faculty and staff at their optimum health. The Health Center is located on the Main Campus. Our services are designed with students, faculty and staff needs in mind. The Opportunity:

The Retail Supervisor provides supervisory oversight for daily operations of the SHS Cashier Department, Convenience and Pharmacy over the counter (OTC) store. This position supervises cashier staff, is responsible for pharmacy collections, monitors accounts receivable, and is responsible for operations, vendor orders, and inventory maintenance and reconciliation.

Responsibilities:



  • Over the Counter (OTC) Convenience Store/Pharmacy: Responsible for ordering, stocking, and maintaining adequate merchandise for the SHS Pharmacy OTC store. Train staff on maintaining storefront, inventory, and removing outdated merchandise. Place and enter OTC orders.

  • Monitor product mix and rotate items to increase sales. Ensure the Convenience Store is clean and organized. Maintain vendor relations including seeking new vendors and negotiate costs with current vendors. Approve invoices to be processed by Accounts Receivable (A/R) staff.

  • Assist Pharmacy Manager with identifying the most cost effective items and/placing orders. Assist with training new staff on Point of Sale (POS) software. Utilize pharmacy (POS) software to enter drug shipment orders, produce reports, remove damage/outdated merchandise, and update pricing. Establish and maintain OTC retail pricing for SHS Pharmacy.

  • Coordinate with Marketing and other university departments to promote the pharmacy, convenience store services and products to the UCF community. Partner with other departments to assist with diversifying OTC products to promote student success.

  • Supervise and train cashiers in collections, POS policies, and cash management. Prepare cashier work schedule and assign duties. Assist in balancing cashier drawers, procuring change, and preparing cashier deposits. Oversee and audit daily cashier transactions and account reconciliations.

  • Perform HR functions including job postings, hiring, training and annual performance reviews.

  • Perform annual market analysis of retail pricing. Submit annual accounting of inventory. Prepare and present annual PI Inventory Report.

  • Responsible for Pharmacy A/R and collections. Ensure all OTC and prescription purchases are paid at time of service, collection of outstanding balances, patient collection calls, messaging in ProPharm, and placing holds on student accounts. Assist with billing issues and monitor interfaces for errors between pharmacy software and EHR.

  • Maintain the cashier operations manual.

  • Prepare replenishment of petty cash funds and quarterly reconciliation. Report credit card system failures to Bank of America and UCF F&A.

  • Responsible for completing annual PCI Compliance.

  • All other duties as assigned by Business Manager II, Assoc, Director, Business Operations, Pharmacist and/or designee. Timely completion of all required university, AHSC, and SHS trainings.




Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience as a supervisor or lead in a retail or medical setting.

  • Prior inventory management experience.

  • Proficiency in computer literacy, data management, and office software.

  • Experience in customer-facing roles within a retail or medical setting.

  • Demonstrated experience handling cash, processing payments, and reconciling daily transactions.

  • Ability to successfully organize detailed information.

  • Effective time-management skills.

  • The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is $17.64 - $21.61. The final rate will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.

  • This is a time-limited and auxiliary funding position. Employment is subject to the availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted.
