About The Position | Major goals and objectives and location requirements

Food & Wine is looking for a Social Media Editor who will be responsible for executing content and promotional strategies across the brand's social media channels-including Facebook, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, X, TikTok, and Instagram-to support traffic and engagement goals and drive audience expansion, growth, and engagement.

The ideal candidate will feel very comfortable using data and insights to guide content creation, understands how great brands and publishers stand out in feeds, and knows how to create engaging posts that drive results.

Hybrid 3x a week- (New York Office)

In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About The Positions Contributions:

Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

  • 30%: Handle day-to-day posting on Food & Wine's Threads, Bluesky, X, and Pinterest accounts for now and eventually, Facebook. Curate content for social promotion using data, trends, and insights. Write social post copy optimized for each social channel, with the goal of driving engagement and traffic.

  • 20%: Report on tests, traffic, and overall performance (views, engagements, impressions) and use these insights to fuel content ideation and strategy discussions. Monitor social and video analytics to help inform the brand's social, site, and video strategy.

  • 20%: Maintain the brands' standards and voice on social media channels. Assist in content planning, creation, and execution for social channels. Attend editorial planning meetings and pitch ideas for promotion. Help to execute campaigns around editorial tentpoles and social-first franchises.

  • 10%: Work with editorial and design to create custom graphics when relevant for promotion. Have the opportunity to participate in digital video creation and promotion, including but not limited to: brainstorming topics, writing scripts, doing background research, and appearing on-screen.

  • 10%: Keep on top of social media trends and explore new, emerging platforms, incorporating updated platform features to optimize social media strategy. Be comfortable liaising with platform partners and communicating platform-specific needs.

  • 10%: Authentically engage with the brand's followers on our social media platforms to foster community and engagement. Be up for any project, from writing captions to resizing images and producing Reels.

The Role's Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Marketing, Public Communications, or equivalent professional experience

Experience:

  • 2-3 years of professional experience in social media for a food or lifestyle brand.

  • Experience working in Facebook Insights, TrueAnthem, Dash Social, and Looker is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with visual storytelling, basic photo editing, and video production.

  • Experience with and enthusiasm for using analytics tools to create reports and inform decision-making.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:

  • Excellent writing skills and editorial judgment; experience writing engaging copy specifically for digital and social media.

  • A love for brainstorming new ideas.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.

  • No reluctance to experiment, try new things, and learn new tools and features.

  • Flexibility to be available for social support as needed for special events, which may occur on evenings and weekends.

  • A passion for all things related to food, cooking, and being in the kitchen

  • A desire to connect with people through social media.

  • A self-driven attitude; high degree of collaboration, organization, and positivity; the ability to thrive in a fast-changing environment.

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $67,000.00 - $72,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
