About the Opportunity:

As a Buyer I, you will be responsible for quoting and purchasing material, services and/or shop related items to support

Location: South Windsor, CT

This position is 100% on site.

Responsibilities:

  • Using MRP planning software, schedule receipts of certified material, services and/or supplies including sheet metal, bar stock, castings, forgings and shop supplies.
  • Negotiate long term pricing agreements for material, services and supplies as required.
  • Work with work centers to provide assistance in CI activities.
  • Meet cost reduction initiatives.
  • Meet inventory reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain an adequate supply base to meet company goals.
  • Act as a liaison to resolve quality issues and ensure adequate compensation.
  • Ensure on time delivery of material, services and/or supplies as needed.
  • Observes all Company policies, rules, and regulations including good housekeeping, safety and security.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years purchasing experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • Aerospace experience
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of internal and supplier organization.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
