Genesis10 is currently seeking an Agile Coach for an onsite position located in Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity with our client, a global financial institution. We are seeking a highly experienced, Director-level Technical Coach to drive engineering excellence and productivity across our organization. This is not a purely process-oriented role; we need a seasoned technologist who has lived in the code and now excels at elevating how engineering teams build, test, and ship software. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor and mentor to both technical leadership and individual engineering pods. You will bridge the gap between high-level productivity methodologies and ground-level technical execution. Whether you are leading a large-scale enterprise training session on modern engineering practices or sitting with a single team to unblock their CI/CD pipeline adoption, you will be the catalyst for higher quality code, reduced technical debt, and accelerated delivery. Responsibilities:
- Guide development teams through the practical adoption and maturation of test management automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline tooling
- Advise teams on strategic approaches to refactoring, reducing legacy technical debt, and implementing standards that consistently produce higher-quality, resilient code
- Align productivity methodologies with modern engineering practices (e.g., test-driven development, shift-left testing, trunk-based development) to ensure processes actually enhance technical delivery rather than hinder it
- Seamlessly transition between coaching individual teams on tactical engineering challenges and advising senior leadership on large-scale technical strategy
- Design, develop, and deliver training programs, workshops, and playbooks to scale engineering best practices and tooling adoption across the wider enterprise
- Act as a change agent, building buy-in from engineering teams and overcoming resistance to new tools or methodologies through empathy, expertise, and proven results
Requirements:
- 10 years of software development, engineering leadership, or technical architecture experience
- 7 years of hands-on experience with DevOps concepts using: GitHub, Jenkins, XL Release, and Ansible Tower
- 7 years of hands-on experience with leading and executing test automation frameworks including but not limited to TDD and BDD with tools: nUnit/xUnit, Selenium, and SonarQube
- Proven track record in a Director-level, Principal, or Senior Coaching capacity within a large-scale, complex enterprise environment
- Deep, practical expertise with promoting and coaching modern CI/CD pipeline tooling (e.g., Bitbucket, Jenkins, Ansible, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and Test Management Automation best practices
- Extensive experience implementing strategies to measure, manage, and pay down technical debt at scale
- Demonstrated ability to design and deliver technical training to large groups while also providing one-on-one or team-based mentorship
- Exceptional communicator with superb communication and interpersonal skills to explain complex technical paradigms to non-technical stakeholders and debate architectural choices with senior engineers
- Deep technical credibility with an extensive hands-on technical background
- Strategic yet tactical ability to design a multi-year enterprise tooling strategy and troubleshoot a specific team's workflow bottleneck
