Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) is seeking a Watch Desk Operator to support our Army customer in Clarksburg, WV!This opportunity will be a challenging and rewarding experience to support real world operations.Our team and work environment can be described as hardworking, family-oriented, mission-dedicated, and work/life balance-focused.What makes this position unique is that it is a challenging environment, focused on providing direct support to the Department of War (DoW), DoW Partner Nations, Federal Law Enforcement, the Intelligence Community (IC), and the United States Government (USG). Provide support to real world biometric operations, processes, and compliance within the biometric community.If you should join us, you will hone your skills as to time management, customer communication, ability to work as a team, and coordination with USG operations. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide 24/7/365 operations and decision support for the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division (DACID) Biometric Operations Division (BOD).
- Monitor unclassified and classified networks for the upload of biometric files and images.
- Manually transfer biometric files and images from one domain to another following the proper procedures involved in a cross-domain transfer.
- Answer questions concerning biometric files, transactions, and other general inquires.
- Work closely with System Administrators to monitor current operational status of several systems and monitor systems health.
- Identify and correct biometric file errors, as necessary.
- Write and update standard operating procedures for common and reccurring tasks.
- Utilize government-provided automated tools to maintain a 24/7/365 Watch Desk.
- Generate standard and ad hoc reports for government representatives.
- Review and identify data trends in order to provide recommendations for process improvement and training.
Required Qualifications:
- Associates Degree and one (1) year of related experience is required for this position; High School and three (3) years of related experience may be considered in lieu of the Associates degree.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of office administration procedures, including use and operations of standard office equipment.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle regular communication with representatives within the biometric community across the DoW, DoW Partner Nations, Federal Law Enforcement, IC, and USG.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, be customer and detail oriented, possess good decision-making abilities and capable of working well both independently and as part of a group.
- This position exists in a dynamic environment supporting real-world operations, the applicant must be able to always remain professional.
- The position provides operational support in a 24/7/365 environment. The applicant must be willing to work shiftwork (weekends and holidays) to support operations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Military/law enforcement experience preferred, not required.
- Biometrics experience is a plus, but not required.
Other Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Active DoW Secret clearance required.

- 364 days/year, 24-hour coverage
- Consolidated work schedule available (if desired)
- No differential pay offered at this time
- Must remain in a stationary position for long periods of time and constantly operate a computer.
