Job Summary

TheKitchen Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial foodservice equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted kitchen operations. This role diagnoses electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and gas-related issues while following regulatory and safety standards.


Essential Duties

  • Responds to Facility Service Work Orders from building occupants
  • Perform preventive maintenance on commercial kitchen equipment such as: Ovens, ranges, steamers, fryers, grills, dish machines, disposers, refrigeration units, walkins, and coolers, mixers, slicers, and other food prep equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, gas, electrical, and plumbing issues
  • Test equipment to ensure full functionality after servicing
  • Completes all required paperwork timely and accurately. Takes readings from nominal equipment and makes timely entry into appropriate logs
  • Observes and complies with all company safety policies. Uses required personal protective equipment while satisfying all work requests
  • Works on and completes all facility team-based goals

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Technical degree in a related field is preferred
  • Possession of a current universal refrigeration license
  • 3+ years of HVAC experience or commerical kitchen equipment maintenance experience
  • Experience with major commerical equipment brands
