Department:Public Works Department Organizational Unit:Facilities Management Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time Open Until Filled. $23.05 to $25.36 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. North Area/Titusville/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Performs skilled crafts and trades work in the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, equipment, fixtures and structures. An employee in this class performs duties in accordance with standard practices of electrical trade and is allowed considerable latitude in determining methods and work procedures. REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) years of experience in commercial electrical systems. Successful completion of coursework in electrical technology at an accredited vocational-technical school or community college may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis [30 semester (45 quarter) hours = one year experience. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be able to successfully pass a Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) background check administered by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
