The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Position Summary Reporting directly to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations Marketing, and working closely with the staff of Columbia College Development and Alumni Relations (CCDAR), the Assistant Director designs, coordinates and executes broad-based communications, marketing materials and events collateral for CCDAR. The Assistant Director will be the primary project lead for all Alumni Relations marketing as an expert in marketing and program management who can lead projects from concept to execution. Responsibilities
- Creates and deploys email marketing assets using Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Assists in Salesforce Marketing Cloud email management, including uploading send lists, scheduling and sending emails, and tracking email send information.
- Works with the Director, in partnership with other team members, on large-scale events including the design and execution of event creative.
- Edits content on the alumni and development websites.
- Advises colleagues on marketing decisions and enhances the performance of alumni marketing by staying up to date on industry best practices, marketing trends and new technologies.
- Works with outside vendors, including strategic sourcing and cost management for purchases, designing materials, managing deliveries and processing invoices.
- Edits, and occasionally writes, marketing copy - deploying excellent writing skills and adhering to the Columbia style and brand guidelines.
- Partners on print and digital assets, including programs, invitations, newsletters, brochures, signage, and a variety of digital assets for email, web, and social media.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of related work experience.
- Experience using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or a comparable CRM system.
- Must possess superior writing and editing abilities, with a genuine interest in the power and precision of words considered a strong asset.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills.
- Extreme attention to detail and an eye for accuracy.
- Excellent project management of complex and multi-layered events and programs are a must.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with an ability to manage multiple and complex assignments simultaneously, determine priorities, meet deadlines and monitor results.
- Must be self-directed and motivated, able to work independently, but also as part of a team.
- Proactive, resourceful investigator and problem-solver.
- Demonstrates strong initiative and foresight by planning, anticipating and preparing to be at least one step ahead.

- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism, English or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years of related work experience (marketing, program management, graphic design, etc.) in a complex organization
- Experience in Adobe Suite (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
