JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

All applicants/candidates for this position must be a current Hancock Whitney Associate or have successfully completed the Hancock Whitney Corporate Internship Program.

The Banking Development Program Associate participates in an 18-month rotational program designed to develop future bankers in commercial, business, and private banking. Participants gain hands-on experience across client-facing and operational roles, working with banking products, services, and processes. Through training, mentorship, cross-functional collaboration, and exposure to financial planning, credit, and risk management, participants build the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career as a banking officer. Upon successful completion, associates may be placed in Business, Commercial, or Private Banking roles, with opportunities to pursue professional licensing as appropriate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in 18-month rotational assignment across client-facing and operational banking roles including Commercial, Business and Private Banking.

  • Gain hands-on experience in banking products, services, credit standards, and pricing through training, assignments, mentorship, team collaboration and other events

  • Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, marketing materials, and account documentation.

  • Support client onboarding, account management, and banking product delivery.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Treasury Management, Commercial Real Estate, and Wealth/Private Banking.

  • Contribute to projects that improve client experience and operational efficiency.

  • Attend management meetings to learn about company objectives, processes, risk management, and controls.

  • Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and continuous professional growth throughout rotations.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.

  • Strong interest in banking and client relationship management.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, rotational program environment.

  • Eagerness to learn and pursue professional development opportunities, including potential licensing (FINRA Series 7/66 and Life & Health Insurance) during the program.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions.

  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions.

  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions.

  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
