Data Engineer II (Datagrid)

We're looking for a Data Engineer II to join the Procore AI team. In this role, you'll design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platforms that power analytics, product insights, and evaluation systems.

As a Data Engineer, you'll partner with Product Managers and Application Engineers to build complex data workflows, improve platform reliability, and contribute to architectural decisions. Use your SQL, Python, Scala skills to empower end customers with actionable insights through data discovery. Join a culture that values clean design, observability, reliability, and continuous improvement. You'll collaborate with strong technical peers and contribute to raising the engineering bar.

This position reports into Engineering Manager - Machine Learning, and will be based in our Bay Area office in California US. We're looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you'll do:

  • Designs, builds and oversees the deployment and operation of technology architecture, solutions and software to capture, manage, store and utilize structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources.

  • Establishes and builds processes and structures based on business and technical requirements to channel data from multiple inputs, route appropriately and store using any combination of distributed (cloud) structures, local databases, and other applicable storage forms as required.

  • Develops technical tools and programming that leverage artificial intelligence, machine learning and big-data techniques to cleanse, organize and transform data and to maintain, defend and update data structures and integrity on an automated basis.

  • Creates and establishes design standards and assurance processes for software, systems and applications development to ensure compatibility and operability of data connections, flows and storage requirements.

  • Reviews internal and external business and product requirements for data operations and activity and suggests changes and upgrades to systems and storage to accommodate ongoing needs.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields.

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Strong experience building data pipelines with SQL, Python or Scala.

  • Strong experience in cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

  • Experience with Databricks or similar lakehouse platforms.

  • Understanding of CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.

  • Experience with using Large Language Models for building applications is a plus.

Additional Information

Base Pay Range:

129,996.00 - 178,744.50 USD Annual

This role may also be eligible for Equity Compensation and/or Bonus Incentive Compensation. Procore is committed to offering competitive, fair, and commensurate compensation. Actual compensation will be based on a candidate's job-related skills, experience, education or training, and location.
