About the Role

The Gore's Performance Solutions Division (GPS) Innovation Leader for Emerging Products is responsible for shaping and delivering the next generation of growth platforms for GPS. This role leads experienced leaders and teams to develop and commercialize differentiated products by connecting customer needs, technology capabilities, and business strategy. The role partners closely with business development leaders and teams to evaluate and select emerging opportunities, and is accountable for advancing selected concepts through development to market. Success in this role requires strong judgment, disciplined portfolio and investment decisions, and a proven track record of turning early opportunities into scalable products that deliver growth.

This leader sets direction, builds capability, and creates the conditions for teams to do their best work, while maintaining a clear focus on execution, value creation, and impact.

This position will be located at one our facilities in Elkton, Maryland with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement.

Pay and Benefits:

  • $186,000- $235,000 per year
  • Roles above $150k are eligible for the variable pay program each fiscal year, based on defined business performance metrics.

Responsibilities
  • Set and execute product and technology strategies that align with GPS business objectives and deliver defined innovation growth goals.
  • Build and maintain a customer-informed product and technology roadmap that translates opportunity into focused investments.
  • Own the Emerging Products project portfolio, including prioritization, resource allocation, and disciplined decisions to advance, pivot, or stop work based on data and business value.
  • Lead and develop a team of leaders, creating clarity of direction, strong accountability, and a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
  • Directly lead, coach and develop our Product Innovation Leads and Tech Scouts; delivering our next generation of products and building capabilities for the future
  • Manage the R&D budget for Emerging Products, ensuring effective use of resources and alignment with portfolio priorities and growth commitments.
  • Establish and maintain innovation processes and governance that support disciplined technical execution, speed, quality, and learning.
  • Engage customers, business development, commercial, and technology teams, along with external partners, to co-develop scalable solutions and develop products from concept through commercialization.
  • Partner across GPS and with external stakeholders to shape IP strategy for Emerging Products, ensuring protection, leverage, and alignment with product and business objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • PhD in engineering, science, or a related technical field.
  • At least 10 years of experience leading teams responsible for technology development, new product development, or innovation-driven growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to set product and technology strategy, sense emerging opportunities, and translate them into focused product and investment roadmaps.
  • Proven success developing and leading leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver new products to market.
  • Strong experience building and managing product portfolios, including prioritization, resource allocation, and disciplined decisions to advance or stop work.
  • Track record of direct customer engagement and customer-centered innovation, including co-development with external partners.
  • Ability to use data, market insight, and business cases to drive decisions and align teams around clear direction.
  • Strong business acumen and communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and connect technical work to market opportunity, customer value, and financial outcomes.
  • Ability to travel up to 20 %

This position requires access to export-controlled areas and information. Candidates must be "U.S. persons" as that term is defined in 8 USC *1324b(a)(3). The term "U.S. persons" includes US citizens, resident aliens ("green-card" holders) as well as certain refugees, asylum-holders and residents qualifying for temporary residence under the terms of 8 USC *1255a.

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement in the country from which the Associate is employed. Eligibility is dependent on the responsibilities of the role and business needs, and the Associate must agree to comply with Gore's work arrangement policies.
