A Medical Director plays a key role within the Medical Matrix Team by providing strategic medical leadership for a key asset and leading tactical execution of US Medical Affairs activities. This involves developing medical strategies and translating clinical evidence into actionable plans, while ensuring compliance with medical governance codes and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop US-specific medical strategy, ensuring alignment with global asset strategy and US customer needs.
  • Provide strategic oversight of US tactical plans and ensure alignment with therapeutic portfolio and disease-area strategies.
  • Engage external communities to advance scientific understanding, appropriate use of medicines, disease management, and patient care.
  • Coordinate external expert engagement with US Medical Science Liaisons (MSL) and Global Medical Asset Leader (GMAL). Support creation of medical materials for scientific engagement.
  • Review, synthesize, and analyze clinical trial data, translating it into actionable plans.
  • Develop strategies for Medical Advisory Board, Expert Panel meetings, Medical Grants, and Medical Publications.
  • Support Medical Information team on FAQs and medical information responses.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Healthcare Doctorate or terminal degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, DNP, NP, PA, etc.).
  • Three or more years of medical affairs experience.
  • Three or more years of experience supporting Infectious Disease or Vaccine assets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Herpes Zoster experience preferred.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of medical affairs accountabilities for evidence generation, external engagement and internal advice.
  • Disease area expertise and appropriate medical and/or clinical experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent communications skills.
  • Ability to influence to deliver results, proactively look for new opportunities and constantly anticipate the need for change.
  • Ability to drive and continuously curious in a performance-based culture.
