  • Core Knowledge & Skills: Works across multiple languages and platforms, designs and implements architectural decisions, applies design patterns, cloud-native services, IAAS/PAAS/SAAS basics, and secure coding practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10).

  • Work & Complexity: Performs complex tasks under limited guidance, integrates and troubleshoots distributed or cloud services, and optimizes performance and scalability.

  • Quality & Independence: Sets a high bar for code quality, multitasks effectively, owns and corrects errors quickly, and drives continuous improvement.

  • Teamwork & Communication: Leads code reviews, mentors teammates, and translates technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Consulting & Engagement: Works directly with clients without oversight, writes technical RFP content when needed, nurtures client relationships, and manages routine client concerns.

As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Full Stack Developer.
Project Summary

The Full Stack Developer will provide development and operations & maintenance (O&M) support for a mission-critical, production Java application supporting a Postgres backend and running on Tomcat/JBoss application servers. This role supports a secure AWS cloud environment and requires close collaboration with both government and contractor teams. The developer will be involved throughout the full application lifecycle, from requirements gathering and development through deployment and production support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide full lifecycle development and O&M support for a production Java-based application.

  • Gather, analyze, and develop enhancement specifications and technical requirements based on system owner and stakeholder input.

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy new application functionality in an AWS cloud environment.

  • Support production environments, including troubleshooting, issue resolution, and ongoing maintenance.

  • Develop and maintain responsive, user-friendly interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional government and contractor teams to ensure mission objectives are met.

  • Participate in code reviews, system testing, and implementation planning.

  • Ensure application security, performance, and scalability in compliance with government standards.

Required for This Opportunity
  • Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (Master's preferred but not required).

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on full stack development experience.

  • Strong experience with Java (JEE development).

  • Advanced JavaScript and AJAX application development skills.

  • Angular (version 14 or higher) with 5+ years of hands-on experience.

  • Experience with Spring Boot and Spring Data JPA.

  • Hands-on experience with Tomcat and/or JBoss application servers.

  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL databases.

  • Experience working in an AWS cloud environment.

  • Ability to work full-time onsite in Chantilly, VA.

Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience using Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.).

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

At AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member. The targeted base salary range for this role is $100,000-$150,000 per year. Please note that this range is provided as a guideline and the final offer will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, skillset and competencies, level of experience, education, certifications, and location. We value transparency in our hiring process and are happy to discuss how your unique qualifications align with our compensation structure during the interview process.
