About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to support regulatory compliance and continuous improvement within a heavy industrial environment. This role focuses on OSHA compliance, RC14001 gap analysis, procedure development, and safety program effectiveness, partnering with operations and leadership to reduce risk and strengthen site safety performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct gap analyses against OSHA (29 CFR 1910) and Responsible Care 14001 standards
• Develop and revise safety procedures aligned with OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI requirements
• Evaluate field execution vs. documented programs and identify compliance gaps
• Create and track corrective action plans to closure
• Support internal audits and RC14001 management system reviews
• Analyze incidents, audit findings, and trends to drive continuous improvement
• Prepare detailed compliance reports with actionable recommendations
• Collaborate with site leadership to implement sustainable safety improvements

Required Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of industrial safety, compliance, or EHS experience
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910), NFPA, and ANSI standards
• Proven experience with procedure writing and regulatory interpretation
• Ability to read and interpret PFDs, P&IDs, and one-line drawings
• Strong communication skills with experience leading safety meetings

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, or refining environments
• Familiarity with RC14001 management systems and audits
• Degree in Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field
• BCSP certification or RC14001 auditor training

Work Environment

• Onsite, Monday-Friday (7:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
• No travel required
