Compensation: $100,000 per year SUMMARY: The Software Product Manager establishes and leads product management for a portfolio of software products across the Pace organization. The Software Product Manager owns product vision, priorities, and roadmaps across multiple software products, ensuring alignment between business strategy, customer needs, market dynamics, and technical execution. This role has clear decisionmaking authority for product priorities, informed by close collaboration with business stakeholders, customers, and the IT softwaredevelopment organization. Key Responsibilities Product Ownership & Strategy
- Own the product vision and strategy for a portfolio of software products.
- Define, maintain, and communicate multigeneration product roadmaps that balance shortterm delivery with longterm business value.
- Make final decisions on product priorities, incorporating input from key stakeholders while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
- Identify and evaluate new product opportunities based on customer needs, business objectives, and market trends.
Stakeholder & Customer Collaboration
- Partner closely with business leaders and functional stakeholders to understand goals, constraints, and success criteria.
- Engage directly with customers and internal users to gather feedback, validate assumptions, and guide product decisions.
- Facilitate alignment across business, IT, and customer perspectives, clearly communicating tradeoffs and rationale.
Product Delivery & Execution
- Own and prioritize product backlogs to maximize value delivery.
- Collaborate closely with softwaredevelopment teams throughout discovery, delivery, and postrelease learning.
- Define and document product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria at an appropriate level of detail.
- Participate in planning, review, and retrospective activities to support continuous improvement.
- Make feature tradeoff decisions needed during development cycles.
Metrics, Outcomes & Continuous Improvement
- Define and track product success metrics, including:
- Product adoption and usage
- Business benefits and impact (e.g., revenue enablement, cost savings, productivity improvements)
- Customer satisfaction and qualitative feedback
- Use data and feedback to guide roadmap adjustments and investment decisions.
- Ensure products deliver measurable value over time.
Product Management Practice Development
- Establish foundational product management practices, standards, and artifacts appropriate for the organization's size and maturity.
- Help define how product management partners with IT delivery, project management, and business governance processes.
- Act as a champion for productcentric thinking across the organization.
- Contribute to shaping the longterm evolution of the product management function.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years of experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis, or software delivery roles or equivalent industry experience in analytical environmental testing.
- Demonstrated success managing priorities and roadmaps for multiple software products or related industry experience.
- Proven ability to make and defend product decisions in complex, multistakeholder environments.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and iterative delivery methods (e.g., Agile).
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholdermanagement skills.
- Comfort working in environments with evolving structure, processes, and expectations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience introducing or maturing product management practices within an organization.
- Experience in the analytical environmental testing industry.
- Background in B2B software, enterprise systems, or regulated industries.
- Experience working directly with enterprise customers as part of product discovery and validation or B2B services.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using metrics to drive product decisions.
- Product management or Agile certifications (e.g., CSPO, SAFe POPM) are a plus.
