STS Line Maintenance is hiring Lead A&P Mechanics in Tucson, Arizona. This is a leadership role inside a fast-moving line maintenance environment where experience, accountability, and execution matter. Position Overview
The Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician supports daily maintenance operations while helping manage workforce performance to meet customer requirements. This role works closely with airlines, flight crews, and Maintenance Control to ensure aircraft are maintained safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with FAA regulations. You will lead from the floor, not from behind a desk.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Station Manager in coordinating daily line maintenance operations
- Help manage and direct technicians to ensure maintenance requirements are met
- Work in close partnership with airlines, flight crews, and Maintenance Controllers
- Ensure all aircraft are maintained to airworthiness standards in accordance with FAA regulations, airworthiness directives, and company policies
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust, and repair transport category aircraft airframes and engines
- Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and operational integrity
- Analyze test results and repair or replace defective components using approved technical data
- Utilize precision tools and equipment to measure wear and determine repair requirements
- Perform additional duties as required to support operations
- Work outdoors and in varying weather conditions as required
Aircraft Supported:
- Boeing 737 NG and MAX
- Airbus A320 family
- Embraer 145, 170, and 175
Qualifications
- Must hold a current FAA Airframe & Powerplant License with no history of infractions
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Lead Technician in a line maintenance environment
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working on commercial or large regional aircraft
- Recent experience on turbine-powered aircraft preferred
- Experience working under a Part 145 repair station or Part 135 environment strongly preferred
- Inspection Authorization license is a plus
- Must own a standard set of line maintenance tools
- Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and technical documentation
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead in a team environment
- Must be able to pass background check, drug and alcohol screening, and obtain Customs and Border Protection clearance
- Must be able to stand, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds

- Line maintenance environment supporting commercial aircraft operations
- Requires flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Work performed outdoors and in active airport environments
