The Opportunity Acts in a lead position engaged in the maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic and automated equipment and systems at Natural Gas Compressor Stations and pipeline facilities. Required to work in a team environment. This position is represented by United Steelworkers Local 628 and the filling of the position is subject to the terms and conditions of the governing collective bargaining agreement. What you'll do Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversees, directs, and performs tasks associated with the installation, start-up, inspection and repair of automated and electrical systems and facilities. Such equipment includes ignition systems, automated control panels, pneumatic circuits, electrical circuits, electrical generators, switches, UPS systems, data acquisition equipment, engine sequencing and speed control equipment, EM facilities, and RTU and associated field devices.
- Works closely with A&E Technician and Compressor personnel. Keeps up to date with all applicable codes, regulations, policies and procedures; ensures Company facilities are operated in compliance of such codes. Investigates equipment and facility failures and repairs or recommends corrective action.
- Performs diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, modifying, calibrating and replacement of control system software and components associated with equipment control, data gathering and facility operations.
- Oversees contractors and performs electrical wiring tasks, installing tubing and conduit, fabrication of mounting devices and control panels, installation of ignition systems, programmable controllers, IUFM facilities, electronic measurement, RTU facilities, and UPS systems.
- Participates in the installation and maintenance of Data Networks and associated equipment.
- Instructs station personnel in basic operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, and automated systems.
- Operates computers and modems for data entry and retrieval and analysis of collected data.
- Compiles, prepares, maintains written record related to the O&M, preventative maintenance, inspection and repair of all assigned electrical, electronic, automated systems.
- Assists in maintaining an adequate inventory of parts and materials for assigned equipment.
- Using PC and/or handheld device, completes Work Orders, enters data into Job Plans, creates new Work Orders, etc. in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo).
- Troubleshoots Control Networks (e.g. fiber optics, ethernet, serial interfacing between control equipment)
- Will be required to work in other job functions as needed and determined by management.
- Operates Company vehicle.
Note: Successful candidates will be required to maintain ISA Level I certification as a condition for remaining in A&E Mechanic position. Minimum Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent technical degree required.
- Must have at least 5 years of combined education and experience in the field of Electrical\Electronic system and instrumentation.
- Must achieve the ISA Certified Controls System Technician (CCST) Level I certification within one of year.
- Field experience in digital circuits, pneumatic controls, electronic instrumentation, and electrical control systems.
- Electrician's license or Journeyman's card/certificate desired.
- Must have the ability to work alone with minimal supervision and be a self-starter.
- Must have the interpersonal skills required to work effectively with other personnel in a team environment to conceive, produce and maintain complex, high-tech systems.
- Must demonstrate basic personal computer skills and must have the ability to obtain basic skills in using a handheld computer.
- Must be able to obtain basic skills in using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS - Maximo).

Have and maintain a valid driver's license and a safe driving record Successfully qualify for specific job tasks per DOT and Company operator qualification requirements Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, to include drug and alcohol testing Be subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and work extended days and/or weeks for emergency response purposes Be exposed to extreme weather conditions Pass respiratory fit test and use equipment such as SCBA and other respirators Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home
