CareDx is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Medical Affairs Training & Development Manager to support the growing needs of the Field Medical Affairs team. This role reports to the Head of Training & Development and partners closely with the VP Medical Affairs & field leadership to design, deliver, and continuously improve training programs that strengthen the scientific, operational, and engagement capabilities of our Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) and other Medical Affairs team members. The ideal candidate brings a strong scientific foundation, demonstrated experience building and facilitating training for field-based medical teams, and a passion for operational excellence in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a highly cross-functional role requiring strong influence skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to translate learning needs into practical, compliant training solutions. People Leadership: This role has no direct reports and leads through influence, project leadership, and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities New Hire Training & Onboarding
- Partner with Medical Affairs leadership to plan, execute, and continuously improve the 12-week onboarding program for new MSLs and other Medical Affairs team members.
- Co-facilitate onboarding modules, including scientific content, systems/tools training, field coaching, and certification activities.
- Coordinate onboarding logistics (scheduling, materials, facilitator readiness, and post-session follow-up).
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Commercial, Clinical) to integrate relevant content and ensure consistent, compliant onboarding experiences.
Ongoing & Advanced Training
- In collaboration with key stakeholders (e.g., Medical Directors, Medical Information & Content Development, MSL leaders), design and deliver a Medical Affairs training roadmap for each product and therapeutic area.
- Develop ongoing education initiatives such as scientific and clinical updates, product and data refreshers, field effectiveness and soft-skills training (e.g., scientific storytelling, KOL engagement, communication skills), and systems/tools optimization.
- Curate and maintain scientific training content to ensure alignment with current literature, product evidence, and the therapeutic landscape.
- Support training content aligned to the Medical Affairs publication strategy by partnering with Medical Directors/Medical Communications on education that reflects planned scientific dissemination and approved narratives (without owning publication operations).
Field Coaching, Performance Support & Needs Assessment
- Partner with MSL leaders to monitor performance trends and field insights to identify learning needs and tailor training interventions.
- Conduct competency/fluency checks (as appropriate) and provide structured feedback to support skill development and knowledge retention.
- Recommend targeted coaching plans or reinforcement activities to address common gaps.
Meeting Planning & Facilitation
- Contribute to the planning and execution of team meetings (regional, national, NFM, etc.).
- Collaborate on meeting agendas, speaker coordination, workshop design, and post-meeting assessments.
- Facilitate interactive live and virtual training sessions, ensuring learner engagement and measurable outcomes.
Curriculum Management, LMS & Evaluation
- Partner with the LMS Administrator to house, maintain, and enhance Medical Affairs curricula in CareDx University (ClearCo/Brainier).
- Develop and administer assessments, certifications, and feedback loops to evaluate training effectiveness and knowledge retention.
- Leverage field feedback, compliance insights, and leadership input to inform content updates and continuous improvement.
- Define, track, and report training metrics/KPIs (e.g., onboarding completion, certification rates, assessment performance, engagement, and utilization).
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Management
- Work cross-functionally with Medical Directors, MSL leaders, Compliance, Commercial Training, and external vendors to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance of training materials.
- Manage training project plans, timelines, and deliverables; oversee vendor execution and contracts as needed.
- Promote effective adoption and use of training tools and learning resources across the Medical Affairs team.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of the diagnostics, biotech, or pharmaceutical environment and the practical dynamics of Field Medical Affairs/MSL roles.
- Demonstrated experience in training development and facilitation (onboarding and ongoing education) for field-based or medical/scientific teams.
- Strong facilitation skills, including translating complex scientific data into clear, audience-appropriate learning experiences.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail, strong organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration platforms (e.g., MS Teams, CoPilot); experience with LMS tools preferred.
Preferred
- Experience with adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and blended learning approaches.
- Experience partnering with Compliance/Legal in a regulated environment (content review, documentation, training records).
- Experience working with vendors (e-learning, medical communications, content development, meeting logistics).
Education & Experience
- Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, NP, PA, or relevant scientific degree) preferred; Bachelor's or Master's degree in a life science or related field required.
- Experience in solid organ transplantation and/or immunology preferred.
- Typically 5+ years of related scientific/clinical/industry experience, including 2+ years in Medical Affairs, MSL, medical education, or training roles.
- Prior training and development experience highly preferred.
Travel & Work Arrangement
- Ability to travel up to 25-30% for team meetings, onboarding support, and field engagement.
- Remote (US-only).

This is the anticipated base salary range in the United States. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to, the type and length of experience within the job, the type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units. CareDx is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states. Remote: US only roles $165,000 - $190,000 USD
