- Perform advanced T-SQL query analysis and provide optimization recommendations to improve performance.
- Analyze execution plans and leverage Query Store to identify and enforce optimal query plans.
- Manage index maintenance, including statistics updates, index rebuilds, and fragmentation analysis.
- Design and implement table and index partitioning strategies for large datasets.
- Conduct database blocking analysis and assess system-wide performance impact.
- Optimize stored procedures and ad hoc SQL through execution pattern analysis and performance tuning techniques.
- Collaborate within application development environments to align database performance with application behavior.
SQL Server Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2017/2019/2022) environments.
- Apply patches, cumulative updates (CUs), and service packs in accordance with best practices.
- Manage database storage, filegroups, and overall volume capacity planning.
- Monitor and maintain database performance, availability, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot issues related to CPU, memory, disk I/O, and TempDB performance.
- Configure and manage Always On Availability Groups and SQL Server Replication.
- Administer SQL Server Agent jobs and SSIS packages.
Monitoring, Security & Operations
- Implement proactive monitoring and alerting for SQL Server environments.
- Manage user roles, permissions, and enforce database security standards.
- Perform performance diagnostics and capacity planning to ensure system stability.
Tools & Technologies (Good to Have)
- SolarWinds.
- Database Performance Analyzer (DPA).
- Dynatrace (API-to-database call tracing and performance monitoring).
