Database Performance & Optimization

• Perform advanced T-SQL query analysis and provide optimization recommendations to improve performance.
• Analyze execution plans and leverage Query Store to identify and enforce optimal query plans.
• Manage index maintenance, including statistics updates, index rebuilds, and fragmentation analysis.
• Design and implement table and index partitioning strategies for large datasets.
• Conduct database blocking analysis and assess system-wide performance impact.
• Optimize stored procedures and ad hoc SQL through execution pattern analysis and performance tuning techniques.
• Collaborate within application development environments to align database performance with application behavior.

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2017/2019/2022) environments.
• Apply patches, cumulative updates (CUs), and service packs in accordance with best practices.
• Manage database storage, filegroups, and overall volume capacity planning.
• Monitor and maintain database performance, availability, and scalability.
• Troubleshoot issues related to CPU, memory, disk I/O, and TempDB performance.
• Configure and manage Always On Availability Groups and SQL Server Replication.
• Administer SQL Server Agent jobs and SSIS packages.

• Implement proactive monitoring and alerting for SQL Server environments.
• Manage user roles, permissions, and enforce database security standards.
• Perform performance diagnostics and capacity planning to ensure system stability.

• SolarWinds.
• Database Performance Analyzer (DPA).
• Dynatrace (API-to-database call tracing and performance monitoring).
