As aQuality & Reliability Engineerfor Milwaukee Tool, you will be located at our Corporate & Global Design Headquarters in Brookfield, WI reporting to the Reliability / Quality Manager.Throughout a product's development cycle, this position requires cross-functional communication skills and analytical expertise to help launch new and exciting solutions that meet user needs. You will work in a fast-paced environment to innovate new products as a member of a cross-functional team. Reporting to the Quality Manager provides quality engineering services to cross-functional project teams which include New Product Development, Product Support, and Value Engineering. Primary duties are to lead and direct the advanced quality and reliability activities of project teams to successfully meet Project Quality/Reliability Objectives as well as project goals including Supplier Development, Time-To-Market, Cost, and Performance. Should be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving & critical thinking skills and show proactiveness in executing deliverables.

Quality Engineering Responsibilities (60%)

* Work with the global quality teams to develop QC mitigation strategies for high-risk specifications.

* Coordinate quality planning activities such as auditing, inspection, and control plans (incoming, in-process and outgoing) that drive user need CtQ requirements through product specifications and into manufacturing processes.

* Collaborate with US, European, and Asian-based manufacturing and supplier representatives to ensure operational readiness of new product launches

* Ensure manufacturing process stability and capability through the use of advanced statistical methods; including Six Sigma methods, and Ppk and Cpk analysis and interpretation

* Participate in the evaluation and selection of suppliers.

* Able to call, lead and conduct global, cross-functional team members with the following participants: New product development engineering, internal/external operations/suppliers, quality, and supply chain.

* Provide technical guidance to the PRC and US-based supplier quality teams.

* Monitor, investigate, and report field product reviews, utilizing various user feedback data streams to determine overall product health and assess risk of product quality.

Reliability Engineering Responsibilities (40%)

* Collaborate with Engineering and Marketing to translate customer needs into product requirements and specifications.

* Support the product design process including benchmarking and testing of concepts & prototypes.

* Develop and execute test procedures to validate product specifications and ensure Quality and Reliability readiness.

* Lead Risk Assessments (Design and Manufacturing) during the product development cycle.

* Perform reliability analysis, using advanced statistical techniques including Weibull, Minitab, and other statistical tools.

* Interpret and present advanced statistical data to a cross-functional team in a concise format.

* Perform failure analysis, and recommend solutions with corrective action, as required.

* Proactively seek out quality improvements for new and existing products.

Education and Experience Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

* Previous experience with Advanced Quality, Quality Engineering and/or Reliability Engineering concepts

* Experience with use of advanced statistical methods and techniques in the Reliability and/or Quality disciplines (including Six Sigma methods, Weibull, Linear Regression, etc)

* Extremely critical thinker, able to evaluate and identify risks in the early product development cycle and able drive projects to mitigate those risks.

* Experience in manufacturing environments is highly preferred.

* Ability to travel 20% of the time.
