Position Summary:
Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide direct patient pulmonary care in an acute care hospital setting. This role supports adult patients primarily, while also caring for children and infants. Responsibilities include respiratory assessment, ventilator management, oxygen and aerosol therapy, medication delivery, tracheostomy care, patient documentation, and code response.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide direct respiratory care to patients in the acute hospital setting
  • Perform respiratory assessments and communicate findings to the care team
  • Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot ventilators and related equipment
  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and respiratory medications
  • Support CPAP, BiPAP, suctioning, pulse oximetry, and tracheostomy care
  • Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR/code team support
  • Document care accurately and follow department, safety, and infection control standards

Qualifications:



  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program
  • Associate degree in Respiratory Care
  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist credential required
  • Maryland licensure required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • New graduates encouraged to apply



Preferred Skills:



  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care procedures and equipment
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Comfort with ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, aerosol therapy, and emergency response


Salary Range: Minimum 34.62/hour - Maximum 57.19/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
