In the role of Construction Claims Manager/Consultant, we'll count on you to:
  • Sit full-time at our client's office supporting the local transit initiatives.
  • Manage the local rail program's construction claims program under the supervision of the Director of Construction Claims, Utility and Third Party.
  • Responsible for claims avoidance, identification of potential claims, intake, evaluation strategy, documentation monitoring, mitigations, resolution, and litigation.
  • Advise client's project management team regarding claims prevention, defense, and resolution.
  • Draft correspondence and other documents to support client's claims position with respect to claims asserted either by the contractor or client.
  • Manage construction management contracts which are utilized for escalated issues, including cost and schedule analysis, in-depth review of cost items, and preparation for mediation or court proceedings.
  • Interface with experts to assist with complex and technical issues, including schedule program delays, economic damages, and time impact.
  • Oversee and manage claims submitted to alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Assist the Contracting Officer with requests for a final written determination and other claims support.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience
  • Efficient use of the internet and other electronic and hard copy media for research
  • Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project and Visio skills
  • Expert Microsoft Access and Excel skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile and present summary level information
  • Ability to obtain, cleanse, merge and analyze data from multiple sources
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong relationship, organizational and follow-up skills
  • Self-starter with proven track record of accomplishments
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
