About the Role
Picture yourself at HDR. We offer ample opportunities for aspiring marketing professionals.

Our teams design solutions to some of the world's greatest challenges across water, power and energy, transportation, health, education, defense and intelligence, and urban and community development. To support these efforts, our Corporate Marketing department engages in campaigns and events, graphic design and digital media, web development, pursuit management, artificial intelligence platforms, and training.

We're seeking a seasoned Motion Designer with 5+ years of professional experience to concept, design, and produce high quality motion graphics across digital platforms. This role blends creative vision with technical execution - ideal for a designer who can take a project from storyboard to final animation with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and produce motion graphics for video content, social campaigns, product launches, brand storytelling, and internal communications.
  • Develop storyboards, style frames, and animatics that clearly communicate narrative flow and visual direction
  • Animate 2D and 3D assets using industry-standard motion design tools.
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, creative directors, producers, and designers to ensure cohesive visual output.
  • Edit and composite video content, integrating typography, illustrations, and VFX.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all visual elements and platforms.
  • Optimize assets for various outputs (social channels, web, presentations, broadcast, etc.).
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining high creative standards and meeting deadlines.
  • Stay current with trends and emerging techniques in motion design, animation, and digital storytelling.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Fine Arts, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years professional motion design or animation experience
  • Expert proficiency in After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, Cinema 4D, Blender, or other 3D environments (preferred but not required).
  • Video | Ability to capture high-quality video interviews and project b-roll, plus post-production editing
  • Photography | Capture portraits and projects, plus ability to edit
  • Strong communication, client service, time management and project management skills.
  • Excellent sense of timing, rhythm, composition, and visual storytelling.
  • Strong typography and layout skills.
  • Ability to follow direction while contributing original creative concepts.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing polished, professional work.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience with character animation, UI animation, or VFX is a plus.

  • Organized, reliable, and able to manage deadlines effectively.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 2 years related experience
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and to translate business needs into technical requirements
  • Must be a self-starter with proven ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals from both the business and technical side of the organization
  • Ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in customer service and posses solid organizational and planning skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
