These are the qualifications that matter.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification preferred
• 5+ years of experience as a toolmaker, jig & fixture maker, or machinist
• Strong knowledge of machining practices, tooling design, and fabrication techniques
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, GD&T, and complex engineering drawings
• Experience operating manual and CNC machining equipment
• Experience with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.)
• Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software preferred
• Ability to work with tight tolerances and high-precision components
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Ability to meet U.S. export control requirements
• Flexibility to travel between locations and support various shop functions

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain jigs, fixtures, and tooling to support production and inspection processes
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine specifications and tolerances
• Operate manual and CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses) to fabricate high-precision components
• Select materials, machining methods, and cutting tools; grind and heat-treat tools as required
• Assemble, test, troubleshoot, and adjust tooling to ensure accuracy and functionality
• Identify and resolve machining issues related to equipment, materials, or design
• Perform maintenance, repair, and modification of tooling and tool room equipment
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve manufacturability and performance
• Maintain documentation including setup instructions, revisions, and process updates
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and reduce cycle time
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
• Travel between company locations and support additional shop areas as needed
