Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished prosecutor for the position of Executive Assistant District Attorney in the Special Prosecutions Division which includes the Domestic Violence Bureau, Special Victims Bureau, Juvenile Prosecutions Unit and Animal Cruelty Prosecution Unit. The Executive Assistant District Attorney in the Special Prosecutions Division is responsible for the administration of approximately 85 Assistant District Attorneys and support staff. The division works closely with the District Attorney's Detective Bureau, the New York City Police Department, the Queens Family Justice Center, the NYC Law Department, the Queens Child Advocacy Center and other city, state and federal agencies.
Qualifications:
Interested applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the New York State Bar in good standing and have at least 20 years of post-J.D. experience.
Applicants must also have:
- Extensive management experience in a prosecutor's office.
- Extensive experience in handling all aspects of Domestic Violence and/or Special Victims cases.
- Expertise in all aspects of trials, including mastery of the rules of evidence, expert witnesses, pre-trial hearings/litigation, evidence-based prosecutions, admission and use of forensic evidence in investigations and at trial including DNA, medical, and ballistics evidence.
- Substantial experience in grand jury practice.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Salary: $220,000
