Job Description

The Opportunity

The David B. O'Maley College of Business invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty member (open rank) appointment to serve as the Director of the Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE). This leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to advance innovation, venture creation, and entrepreneurial education while building strong connections with students, alumni, industry, and the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem.

About the Role

Reporting to the Dean, the CIE Director will oversee the Center's programs, partnerships, and outreach efforts. The CIE Director will develop student-centered programming, foster cross-campus collaboration, manage the Center's portfolio of activities, and strengthen industry engagement. As a non-tenure track faculty member, there is limited expectation of scholarly research, but there will be a requirement to teach a reduced load of undergraduate and graduate courses in entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and venture creation.

  • Develop programming that engages students at all stages of the entrepreneurial journey.

  • Cultivate partnerships with industry leaders, alumni, donors, investors, and community stakeholders; publish an annual Impact Report.

  • Manage the Center's budget and oversee student workers.

  • Enhance the Center's visibility and reputation as a Center of Excellence within the O'Maley College of Business.

  • Teach entrepreneurship courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as assigned.

  • Pursue external opportunities for sponsored programming and partnerships.

  • Collaborate with the Tech Transfer & Research Park Initiatives team to support high-potential ventures.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Dean.

The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at Embry-Riddle's David B. O'Maley College of Business is the university's student-focused hub for entrepreneurial activity, venture creation, and innovation. Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a master's degree in entrepreneurship, business, innovation, or a related field; a terminal degree is preferred.

  • Relevant industry experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in or with the aerospace industry.

  • Proven leadership in entrepreneurship, innovation, or venture creation.

  • Experience in program management, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and strategic planning skills.

  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level preferred.
