Sr. Cybersecurity Engineer Remote (Remote) full time Secret $130,000 - $160,000 Job Description Overview We are seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to support secure platform operations and cybersecurity architecture across modern cloud and containerized environments. This role is responsible for safeguarding enterprise information systems through proactive monitoring, vulnerability assessment, and implementation of security controls across infrastructure, platforms, and software. The ideal candidate brings experience across red team / blue team operations, DevSecOps practices, and cloud security architecture, and is comfortable operating in fast-moving environments supporting mission systems. This role also contributes to maintaining platform compliance with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements and supports the maintenance and improvement of program Authority to Operate (ATO). Key Responsibilities Conduct continuous monitoring of live cyber environments to identify potential attacks, vulnerabilities, and anomalous activity Perform red team and blue team exercises to evaluate system defenses and identify security gaps Identify, assess, and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities across infrastructure, platforms, and software environments Support development and implementation of secure cybersecurity architectures that align with evolving mission requirements Implement and maintain security controls within cloud and containerized environments Contribute to maintaining and improving Authority to Operate (ATO) status for cloud platforms Perform Risk Management Framework (RMF) security assessments in alignment with NIST guidance Document security assessments, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies Communicate security findings and recommendations to program leadership and stakeholders Support implementation of DevSecOps practices within software development and deployment pipelines Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure security is integrated throughout the system lifecycle Required Skills 5+ years of relevant experience in Cybersecurity DoD 8570 IAT II Secret Clearance Required Strong knowledge of modern cybersecurity methods, threats, and vulnerability mitigation strategies Experience performing security testing and vulnerability analysis, particularly in containerized environments Experience monitoring and analyzing system logs, security events, and network activity Hands-on experience implementing security controls across infrastructure, cloud platforms, and applications Experience supporting RMF security assessments and ATO compliance Understanding of physical security risks and countermeasures Ability to create and maintain detailed technical documentation Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams Strong communication skills and ability to present security findings to leadership Preferred Skills & Experience Experience operating within Agile or DevSecOps development environments Experience with Linux operating systems and system hardening Experience securing Kubernetes clusters and containerized workloads Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Experience with network vulnerability scanning platforms and security tools Experience with XACTA or eMASS compliance tools Knowledge of NIST RMF and 800-53 security controls Experience working with multiple stakeholders and customers across organizations
