As a Rotating Equipment Engineer with Cordant from Baker Hughes, you will support customers with rotating machinery diagnostics, vibration data interpretation, and onsite technical service. You will evaluate machinery conditions using rotordynamic analysis, troubleshoot critical equipment issues, explain your findings, and help customers protect the health and reliability of their assets.

You will work directly with customers across oil and gas, chemicals, power generation, and other process industries. The role offers varied, hands-on diagnostic and balancing work, exposure to complex rotating equipment, and the opportunity to make a visible difference to asset reliability. It also includes extensive travel and significantly paid overtime.

As a Rotating Equipment Engineer, you willbe responsible for:

• Travel to customer sites to conduct field service activities for machinery diagnostics and rotating equipment based on our focus in vibration analysis.
• Provide advanced technical support and root cause analysis for steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, generators, pumps, and other critical rotating equipment.
• Provide technical expertise in vibration analysis, condition monitoring, and reliability solutions.
• Mentor and support the development of field service engineers.
• Support outages, turnarounds, startups, and maintenance events.
• Collaborate with commercial and engineering teams to identify business opportunities.
• Promote and ensure compliance with HSE standards and safe work practices.
• Prepare timely reports that document findings and recommendations.
• Build trusted customer relationships by providing a high level of service and practical guidance on rotating equipment health.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

• A bachelor's degree in engineering.

• At least two years of industry experience.

• Availability for extensive travel of up to 70% and significantly paid overtime.

• A valid driver's license and passport, or the ability to obtain a passport.

• Eligibility to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

• Eligibility to travel overseas and occasionally work on offshore platforms.

Desired Characteristics

• A bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of reliability services.
• ISO certification in vibration analysis.
• Experience with rotating machinery vibration or diagnostics, rotordynamic analysis, predictive maintenance data acquisition and evaluation, machinery balancing, or alignment.
• Knowledge of rotating machinery operations, control systems, and machinery protection or management systems.
• Knowledge of Bently Nevada products and Cordant services.
• Mechanical troubleshooting experience and the ability to read and interpret mechanical prints.
• Project management skills, Microsoft Office skills, and basic familiarity with computer networks.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical concepts to business and technical audiences.
• The ability to work effectively with people and remain composed in demanding work conditions.
