Genesis10 is currently seeking an API Developer for a remote contract position with a Leading Pharmacy Benefit Manager. This is an 8+ month contract opportunity.

Pay range:
$65 - $70 per hour W2

We are seeking a skilled API Developer to join an Enterprise API team supporting a leading Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) platform. This role is focused on designing, enhancing, and optimizing APIs that power member-facing applications and partner integrations. You will play a critical role in enabling real-time access to pharmacy, drug pricing, and eligibility data, supporting millions of members through scalable, high-performance API services.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and enhance enterprise APIs that support external applications and partner integrations
  • Work within an API management platform (e.g., WSO2, Kong) to build and optimize API services
  • Enhance existing APIs by adding new features (e.g., pharmacy discount matching, pricing logic improvements)
  • Improve API performance, scalability, and reliability, especially in cloud-based environments
  • Develop backend logic to process complex healthcare and pharmacy data, including drug pricing, formulary coverage, and National Drug Code (NDC) validation
  • Integrate APIs with internal systems such as claims platforms, drug databases, and eligibility systems
  • Support high-volume, real-time API transactions for member-facing and partner applications
  • Troubleshoot and resolve API performance or data issues in production environments
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, QA, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in WSO2 development and integration
  • Proficiency in JavaScript (or similar languages used in API development)
  • Experience building and enhancing RESTful APIs
  • Strong understanding of API performance optimization and troubleshooting
  • Experience integrating APIs with backend systems and data sources
  • Familiarity with cloud environments and post-migration performance considerations
  • Must be a Green Card Holder or US Citizen

Desired skills:

  • Experience in healthcare or the PBM domain
  • Understanding of pharmacy claims processing, drug pricing, formulary logic, and NDC data structures
  • Experience supporting high-volume, consumer-facing platforms
  • Background working with eligibility systems or insurance integrations
